Lauren joined Disability Rights Washington after representing death-sentenced clients in Florida for 3.5 years. Through her advocacy, Lauren gained invaluable insight into how the criminal legal system prioritizes vengeance over rehabilitation, and fails to accommodate the needs of incarcerated persons with mental illnesses, as well as physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.
Lauren shared that she is eager to bring her skills and experience to DRW and amplify the voices of incarcerated and justice-impacted Washingtonians.
