Disability Rights Washington (DRW) seeks a Part-Time (20 hours per week), Temporary Office Assistant. This position will be based in Washington State and will be done primarily in-person in the DRW office in Seattle.

Job Overview
The Office Assistant (P/T & Temporary) will answer a multi-line phone system and be the first point of contact for people calling DRW. They will provide logistical support to the program teams. Due to the nature of our advocacy, calls can be intense and emotionally taxing. Estimated work week schedule is 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The compensation range for this position is $33.89 – $38.90 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs primary and backup reception and phone duties as assigned.
- Performs legal assistant duties as assigned. Generally, this is work in support of legal staff who provide technical assistance services over the phone and through the mail.
- Performs program assistant duties for assigned programs and backup to other programs as needed. This involves work in support of one or more programs to which an Office Assistant is assigned.
- Performs general office duties as assigned. This involves a broad range of activities. Examples of which include but are not limited to maintaining office machines; cleaning Seattle office; processing mail and taking to the Post Office; and preparing space for meetings/events.
- Enters tracking data into software applications as assigned.
- Provides logistical support for staff and governance meetings as assigned including but not limited to setting up and operating sound equipment, taking and posting minutes, sending meeting invites, arranging accommodations and catering.
- Assists with the development of and posting content on DRW’s website and social media platforms.
- Cross trains in several key job functions in preparation of filling in during absences of other Office Assistants.
Conflict Resolution
Effectively utilizes conflict resolution and advocacy skills to resolve both internal and external conflicts
Timely Paperwork and Reporting
Submits all required reports, timesheets, and other documentation in an accurate and timely manner
Work Conditions
Being available and able to work in the employee’s assigned office during business hours, with good attendance is an essential job function. Being able to have a set, predictable work schedule within normal business hours. Able to complete 4-hour phone shifts. Travel to Post Office to mail letters and packages.
Workload Monitoring
Maintain a reasonably ambitious workload and keep their immediate supervisor informed when there is insufficient work to perform and when there is a risk that work won’t be completed on a timely basis.

Background Check
DRW conducts background checks of conviction and arrest records on final candidates prior to extending offers.
