
After a nationwide search, we are excited to announce that Wallace (Wally) Tablit has been selected to lead Disability Rights Washington as our next Executive Director, starting November 12, 2025.
Wally brings nearly thirty years of leadership experience in the disability rights and justice movements, with a passion and commitment for creating an equitable world for people of all identities and lived experiences. He has brought positive changes to communities across the Pacific Northwest as well as on the national stage and is a leading expert in competitive and integrated employment. Wally also brings extensive experience in organizational development, leadership, talent management, and person-centered planning.
Over the past decade, Wally has served as Chief Mission and Diversity Officer with Atwork; Senior Director of Policy, Leadership, and Workforce Development at RespectAbility (now Disability Belongs); President of WA chapter of the Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) and Chief Disability Inclusion Officer at Relay Resources. Earlier in his career, Wally held leadership roles in agencies working to support individuals in recovery and with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

In accepting the role, Wally shared: “I am excited, humbled, and honored to be selected to lead DRW in the next phase of our journey. The critical and important work that everyone at DRW does on behalf of the disability community is so vital, especially now, and I am ready to continue my decades of both lived and learned experience in disability justice in my role as Executive Director. I look forward to building from the strengths of DRW, centering the voices of people with disabilities, and building partnerships that create positive impact on communities.”
