Treatment Facilities

Kimberly Mosolf
Director of Treatment Facilities Program

Kimberly Mosolf came to Disability Rights Washington (DRW) in January 2015 as a member of the AVID team, focusing on people with behavioral health conditions held in Washington’s jails. Since 2018, Kimberly has been the Director of the Treatment Facilities Program, where she advocates for people with disabilities who are living and receiving treatment in large state and privately-run facilities. Kimberly’s team uses litigation, policy work, and other systemic advocacy to achieve deinstitutionalization and decarceration. At DRW, Kimberly has also worked to promote police accountability and reduce police violence, decriminalize disability, and reform both the civil and forensic behavioral health systems.

Before coming to DRW, Kimberly practiced law in New York City where she represented parents in child welfare proceedings, people facing eviction, and those struggling with poverty and living unhoused. Kimberly is a graduate of Columbia University College (2001) and School of Law (2006). She was born and raised in Seattle.
