Rebecca Yates
Attorney

Rebecca (she/her) joined Disability Rights Washington in 2025 after serving in the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of the General Counsel. While at the Department of Education, Rebecca worked on litigation and guidance relating to Title IX and Section 504. Prior to her time at the Department of Education, Rebecca served as the Civil Rights Law Fellow at the National Education Association, and completed clerkships in the U.S. District Court in San Francisco and at the Washington State Court of Appeals in Seattle. During law school at U.C. Berkeley School of Law, Rebecca interned with Columbia Legal Services and the Center for Children and Youth Justice, as well as volunteering on student-led projects relating to school discipline and special education. Prior to attending law school, she graduated from Pomona College with a B.A. in English. Rebecca loves baking, crocheting, and listening to audiobooks while walking her dog.
